Last night the One Show on BBC1 featured the V&A Museum of Design in Dundee, currently being built, opening in 2018 and located 15 minutes drive from The Hideaway Experience.
V&A Museum Of Design Dundee will be an international centre for design for Scotland - the first ever design museum to be built in the UK outside London. The V&A Museum of Design Dundee will be housed in a world-class building at the heart of Dundee's waterfront. It will host major exhibitions, celebrate Scotland's design heritage, inspire and promote contemporary talent, and encourage design innovation for the future.
This investment will make a unique contribution to Scotland's cultural landcape. Along with investment in other Waterfront projects in the City of Dundee, the V&A will transforn the visitor experience in Dundee and its hinterland.
We are sure that our guests will enjoy not only experiencing a visit to the V&A Museum but will enjoy the rest of the tourism developments taking place in Dundee at the moment. As well as a new upgraded rail station opening in 2018, there are beautiful new open spaces such as Slessor Gardens, and a range of new restaurants, bars and specialist food and drink retailers. In addition, new tourism experiences such as Pirate Boats on the River Tay give an alternative view from the City from a thrilling rib boat ride.
